The Life of a Royal Princess

06/04/2018

Every girl dreams of being a princess from the moment she first sees a Disney movie. A fairy-tale castle, a charming prince, and a kingdom as well. What could be better? However, the life of real princesses is not as easy as it may seem. Life as a royal is actually rather restricting and becoming a princess of England or most any other country isn’t easy.

The wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is near. The wedding will take place at St George’s Chapel, Windsor on Saturday 19 May. Meghan Markle‘s life will be turned upside-down when she marries Prince Harry. But we have to say that Meghan’s life changed entirely once she started dating the prince, and once she joined the royal family officially, there were some very strict and sometimes strange rules set in place for her.

Here are some things Meghan can’t do:

  1. She can’t eat after the Queen has finished her meal

Sorry Meghan!

  1. Can’t wear fur

Fur farms were banned here in 2000 and is simply unacceptable, but this rule has been repeatedly broken.

  1. Not allowed to sign autographs or take selfies

This will be hard for Meghan because she loves selfies. The first time Meghan went out in public with Prince Harry, she had to deny a fan’s request for a selfie simply because “we’re not allowed to take selfies,” says Meghan.

  1. Not allowed to have social media

It’s crazy to think someone in these days doesn’t have their own social media accounts, but Meghan can’t… for security reasons. She maybe will use the family’s Kensington Royal account to share updates on her life and royal happenings.

  1. No Colored Nail Polish

Royal Family members are prohibited from wearing dark and colored nail polish, meaning that they stick with skin-tone shades.

  1. Not allowed to wear skirts too short

She has been known to wear short skirts, shorts and ripped jeans, but Meghan can’t wear it anymore.

  1. Must wear hats

Women must wear hats to all formal events. After 6 p.m., hats are off and tiaras are on. But be carefull, only married women. Megan will wear hats after 19 May. If an event is held indoors after 6 p.m., women swap their hats for tiaras.

  1. No shopping alone

Meghan likes shopping as much as any other girl. However, she cannot do it alone. She will be allowed to visit supermarkets and modern London boutiques only with protection officers.

  1. No crossed legs when Sitting and never take coat off in public

In truth, the act of removing her outermost layer of clothing in public would be considered “unladylike,” per royal standards.

  1. Give Up Any Other Career Path

Being a princess is a full-time job, and it’s expected to stay that way.

11. No PDA

Unfortunately, we will not be able to see Meghan Markle and Prince Harry holding hands as they go out in public. Sorry, no XOXO from the new Royal couple.
