When we choose a certain skincare product, we mostly think about the benefits that we get from using it on our skin. Thus, it is highly recommended that you should not start a specific product that contains Retinol by using it immediately on a daily basis. It is suggested that you start using it at least two times a day, to give the skin the opportunity to adapt to its effects and then you can use it daily. If you notice that your skin is not suffering from any side effect anymore, you can continue using Retinol, but if you have a very sensitive skin, you can skip this ingredient and opt for a gentle one.
In a recent article from Vogue magazine, dermatologists suggest that Retinol should be used only at night, because it makes the skin more sensitive to the UV rays and if your skin is exposed to the sun, the Retinol’s benefits won’t work efficiently. So, Retinol should be used only at night, while during the day you should apply SPF 30 on a daily basis. Dermatologists also recommend not using any product that contains Retinol on your summer holidays, because your skin will be exposed to the sun for long hours.
Besides the face, you should not skip the neck area, because it is also very sensitive and many signs of premature skin aging can be noticed in this area. So, apply Retinol on your face and neck.
