According to the visual search platform, other popular elopement destinations include city halls, forests and beaches.

The most sought-after locations? Maui in Hawaii and Switzerland came out on top so make sure to book your flights in advance.

A more sustainable ceremony

According to the Pinterest study, millennials and Generation Z are more interested in sustainability than those over the age of 38. So, it comes as no surprise to note that search for sustainable wedding ideas has increased by 181%.

In the wake of news that UK couples will soon be able tie the knot outdoors, a growing number of Pinterest users are also eschewing the traditional church.
