17/01/2018

Menswear designer Kim Jones is leaving Louis Vuitton, according to a new report by WWD. Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2018 presentation in Paris, which is scheduled for this Thursday, will be Kim Jones’ final with the brand.   Today he wrote in Instagram “Thank you @louisvuitton for 7 wonderful years ! You really have been the best and I am grateful to @themarcjacobs for giving me the opportunity to be here in the first place ! I also want to thank Michael Burke for being so great and believing in me and Delphine Arnault for her support @misslucybeeden for being the best right hand in the world @alistermackie for all your great work with us and to the best studio anyone could ever have Virginie Fouquet”

In 2011, Jones was recruited by Louis Vuitton to design its men’s collection, taking charge of one of the fastest growing sections of the global fashion powerhouse. Jones is known for his deep vintage fashion collection, focused on London designers of the 1980s, and for an abiding love of travel (the man visited Japan at least 70 times over the span of a decade).
