If you’ve been keeping up with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s outfit posts on Instagram, then the calming, marbled walls of her dressing room – fondly referred to as her “escape room” – may already be familiar to you. The supermodel occasionally shares selfies of her elegant outfits, inevitably a subtle melange of sleek tailoring, silken separates and gold-toned jewellery, topped off with one of her vast array of Bottega Veneta bags. It seems Rosie’s tasteful, minimal dress code also extends to her interiors choices: her home is full-to-bursting with gorgeous midcentury furniture and considered neutral tones.
Originally hailing from Plymouth, Rosie shares a beachside Malibu pad with her long-term fiancé Jason Statham and their two-year-old son Jack. Sweeping tides can be seen from the floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the beach, while a red-brick fireplace surrounded by stacks of firewood sits grandly in one corner of her home.
Crisp minimalist features include white-washed walls and elephant grey flooring, which are jazzed up with contemporary paintings and statement rugs. A recent picture of her open-plan living area was captioned: “midcentury modern”, and her antique habit is seriously on point: her furniture collection boasts chairs by Swiss architect Pierre Jeanneret and a colourful Hans Wegner Halyard chair that Jason gave to her as a gift. The palette is pared-back and simple: muted cream fluffy rugs can be seen all around the house.
Where does she get her interiors inspiration? In some of her posts, she has tagged the British antiques dealer and interiors guru Rose Uniacke, the architect Jake Arnold and the concept store Galerie Half. From the looks of her Instagram, Standard Architecture seems to be the firm behind the supermodel‘s stylish home, which her husband bought one year prior to his romance with Rosie, in 2009.
A series of spiral staircases connect the four-bedroom home in the esteemed Malibu Colony neighbourhood that has counted the likes of Tom Hanks and Jim Carrey as former residents. And while the couple is apparently considering a move to the UK (it’s been reported that they have viewed homes in Dulwich, south London), for now they’re self-isolating in Malibu – and it’s likely we’ll be blessed with yet more interiors inspo from the supermodel in the interim.
