Demi Lovato in Los Angeles hospital for suspected overdose

24/07/2018

Demi Lovato has been rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after facing a health setback.

According to TMZ, the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer was transported from a home in the Hollywood Hills just before noon today and is currently being treated after an apparent heroin overdose.

According to a People source “close to the singer,” she is now in “stable” condition after initially being found unconscious at home.

Lovato has long been open about her struggle with substance abuse. In June, the 25-year-old released a single called “Sober” in which she revealed she had relapsed after six years of sobriety. “Mama, I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore/And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor,” she sings over somber piano. “And I’m sorry for the fans I lost who watched me fall again/I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.” Lovato finished the song by pledging to get help: “I’m sorry that I’m here again/I promise I’ll get help/It wasn’t my intention/I’m sorry to myself.”
