Nowadays wearing vintage pieces has become a fashion statement. More and more people are recycling, upcycling and going to thrift stores, not only because they are into vintage pieces, but also to have a positive impact in the environment. The fashion industry still remains one of the most polluted industries out there, but with useful campaigns and by raising awareness, the situation might change in the upcoming years.
When it comes to wearing vintage pieces, celebrities and influencers have had an important impact as they are the main source of inspiration.
The 90s and early 2000s style was what struck everybody most and they still remain on the top. Designers understood the desire of wearing vintage clothing so they started reworking their most iconic pieces.
Brands like Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, Thierry Mugler, Vivienne Westwood, Tom Ford, Gucci, etc. have had their moments these past few years with celebrities wearing vintage pieces on red carpet events as well.
Some celebs have made vintage fashion part of their every day style, with Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner increasingly opting for iconic items of the past.
