How to Be More Responsible, But Still Look Stylish

12/01/2022

Having the closet of your dreams is no easy task at all. You can buy the entire store if you like, but if you’re not stylish, or if you don’t know how to pick properly than it is a waste of time and money. A new year brings new things in your life and if you are planning to do changes, you should consider some in your wardrobe as well. The pandemic proved that if you and your loved ones are not healthy, nothing else actually matters.

We have all been guilty of having an attachment to old clothes or buying a designer piece just because you need to own one. Times have changed and we are becoming more responsible when making decisions. So here are some suggestions on how to be more stylish and make responsible choices.

1. Never buy something you will only wear once

We have made this mistake countless times and we keep doing it. It is absolutely a big NO buying something just because you have to attend an event and you don’t want people to see you with something you have already worn before. Why buy something just for the sake of others?

If you are not planning to wear that outfit again, then you are wasting your time shopping. We suggest you go for something classic that you already have. You don’t have to follow trends. You are not an influencer so you are making efforts for nothing.

2. Don’t buy something just because it is on sale

Just because you see something with 50% discount doesn’t mean you’ve hit the jackpot. If you find a designer piece on sale that you really like and have been waiting for so long then it probably is a good investment, but never buy something just because it is on sale. You’ll regret it later and you won’t be able to sell it on resale sites later on.

3. Make rental fashion your best friend

More and more people are trying to be more sustainable and that includes fashion as well. Now you have the possibility to rent clothes and this one has many good effects. First of all, it will cost you less than buying something new. You can go to different events and wear new clothes each time; you’ll have the opportunity to experiment with your style and see what really fits on you. Rental fashion will help you get out of your comfort zone and dare more with your style.

4. Don’t buy where others are buying

You don’t have to buy where all the rest is. You have so many options out there and all you need to do is dig a little further. Day by day new brands and young designers are coming out of the surface and we are talking about the good ones. Keep a close eye on new designers as they have better taste and create amazing pieces.

5. Invest in what you already have

Many make the mistake of throwing things just because they are all worn out. Invest in the pieces you already have, by knowing the exact place where to take them to be fixed. Marie Kondo says: “Keep the things that make you happy”, so why throw that away just because you think it won’t be fixed again?
