Before fashion week was a way to get to know better the new trends in clothes, accessories, jewellery, makeup and hairstyle. Now it has become a way to escape from all that is happening and get lost in those beautifully created pieces of art.
As haute couture has begun, so has our escape from reality. One of the highlights of yesterday’s presentations was the Dior Spring 2021 Haute Couture collection.
The founder of Maison Dior, Christian Dior, was known to be a superstitious person and over the course of his life he encountered many visionary personalities that would advise him on all major decisions.
For the Spring 2021 Haute Couture Collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri opened herself to the magical world of the tarot cards and brought them in a series of extraordinary gowns.
Somehow it was an attempt from the designer to find out what the future held for us through the tarot cards. She specifically chose a tarot deck decorated by the illuminator Bonifacio Bembo for the Duke of Milan in the 15th century.
The collection itself was quite enigmatic with all those extraordinary gowns where gold dominated, and the many dramatic capes that reminded us of Bridgerton.
It was the perfect start for a month full of surprises.
