Celebs You Didn’t Know Were Once Beauty Pageant Queens


Before becoming famous, these women were part of beauty contests and some of them actually won.

Eva Longoria got her start as Miss Corpus Christi in 1998 before starring as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives.


Priyanka Chopra became famous with her role in Quantico, but before that she represented India in Miss World contest in 2000 and she earned the title of Miss World 2000.

You might be surprised to find out that even Oprah Winfrey competed in a beauty pageant. In 1971 she earned the title of Miss Black Tennessee.

Halle Berry competed for Miss USA in 1986 as Miss Ohio. She did not win it, but was elected as first runner-up.


We all fell in love with Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman. The actress is also known for starring in the Fast and Furious saga. Before all that, Gal Gadot won the title of Miss Israel in 2004.


Sophia Loren competed for the Miss Roma title in 1950 in her native Rome. She did not win the first prize but scooped the Miss Elegance prize.


In 2012, Olivia Culpo, was crowned Miss USA. She went on to win Miss Universe in the same year, the first American winner to win since 1997.

The first Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, was named Miss World USA in 1972.
