It’s official: Super short wedding dresses are de rigueur once again.
Spearheaded by Monegasque royal Charlotte Casiraghi, who wore a stone-coloured Yves Saint Laurent mini-dress to her civil ceremony on June 1, 2019, it appears the unconventional bridal trend is making a comeback.
Popularised by 1960s icons Audrey Hepburn, Sharon Tate and Raquel Welch (the ’60s was the era of the mini, after all), the mini wedding dress has made a few more iconic appearances since then, with several notable celebrities shunning tradition for the radical look.
While some opted for a classic mini with lots of leg, others revamped the style with high-low hems and sheer overlays. Here, we take a look back at some of the celebrities who wore short dresses to their wedding with nary a train in sight.
