During the first months of lockdown back in 2020 we did hope that things would immediately change in 2021. But here we are in 2021 with February almost gone and soon it will be 1 year since the first lockdown. Has anything changed for good?
Apart from the discovery of the vaccine, our life is still the same. We can’t stay close to our loved ones, we can’t hug our parents and grandparents, some of us can’t find a job, and some of us are still working from home.
The latter has continued for almost a year now and we have to admit that it hasn’t been easy at all. We miss our schedule, we miss our colleagues and we have completely lost patience and focus.
As humans we can adapt easily with change. Even though working from home is not the ideal thing to do, this is our reality now and we need to make sure to stay on focus and continue with our daily responsibilities.
Below are a few tips on how to stay productive working from home even after all this time.
1. Create a to-do list
When working from home we have the tendency to lose focus very often because something else might get our attention, like making the bed, preparing lunch or dinner, fixing something around the house etc.
That is why it is better if we make a to-do list every night, including all the tasks we need to finish for the next day.
2. Set priorities
If you have a to-do list in front of you, it will help you understand which tasks have priorities and need to be finished as soon as possible. This way, you will know better the importance of your daily tasks.
3. Take little breaks
When WFH we do not follow the same ritual as in the office, like having coffee breaks, lunch breaks or taking a little pause to relax after spending hours looking at a screen. It is important that you have little breaks at home as well.
