Apparently, skirts are getting from mini to micro. Last year, the leg-baring trend made headlines and gave us the hint that anything mini would be IN fashion, especially the mini skirt. But how ready are we for this comeback?
The mini skirt became popular in the 60s and the 70s and had a huge comeback in 2000s when Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie and many others were photographed wearing mini-skirts. Christina Aguilera’s appearance at the 2002 VMAs in a denim mini skirt was the talk of the evening.
Nowadays the mini skirt is back again thanks to Miu Miu, Versace, Balmain, Missoni, etc.
Many consider the comeback of the mini skirt as a response to all the restrictions caused by the pandemic. Nobody wants to stay at home. They want to go out, enjoy their lives and get together again with friends to celebrate.
Even the collections presented on the runway for the fall/winter 2022 season were more focused on partywear and office style looks.
Let us hope that things will get back to normal and we can all breathe again in relief.
If you are looking for changes in your summer wardrobe, you might consider the mini skirt. In 2022 the mini skirt can be low or high-rise, flared or tube, colourful or monochrome. It is up to you to make the choice.
