Tips For Healthy Hair

We give a lot of importance to our skin care and we sometimes forget about our hair. As the seasons change, we should also change our hair care habits, especially during summer, when the growing heat can severely damage our hair. But, there are a few tips that can help you make sure your hair stays healthy.

Tip #1: Wash your hair two-three times a week

It is recommended to stop washing your hair on a daily basis. As much as you want your hair to be perfect every day, by washing them daily you remove the natural oils that your hair contain, which are essential for protecting and nourishing them.

Tip #2: Buy a good dry shampoo

The world became much better when dry shampoos were invented and for those who have oily hair it turned out to be like they had won the jackpot. Some dry shampoos can also add volume to your hair and you will look perfect.

Tip #3: No hot showers

If you want healthy hair, everything starts from your shower routine. First of all, you should get the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type and the level of the damage that your hair might have. Avoid hot showers, because they only damage your hair and can cause breakage.

Tip #4: Shampoo your scalp, not your ends and massage it

You can use as much shampoo as you like while you shower, but if you are not aiming the right spot it is a waste of time. Always opt for the scalp, because it is the most important area and massage it as it helps blood circulation.

Tip #5: Use hair treatments

If you have colored hair, you should give major importance to taking care of it if you want healthy hair. There are many hair treatments for colored hair, so invest on some really good treatments like masks and serums, without forgetting a good conditioner.

Tip #6: Dry your hair with a towel before applying conditioner

Yes, you read it well! Before applying conditioner, you should gently dry your hair with a towel, because the water in your hair won’t let the conditioner penetrate well and it won’t give the necessary moisture. Also, you should apply the conditioner on the ends and skip the roots, because your scalp can get greasy very fast.

Tip #7: Comb by starting from the bottom

You should always use a wide-tooth comb for your hair and not a brush, because wet hair is more fragile and if you brush them it can cause breakage. A comb is always the right choice and start from the ends of your hair and then move up.

Tip #8: No heat-styling tools

Avoid frequent use of flat irons, curling irons, and even blow drying your hair often, because they only cause damage to your hair. Instead try creating different hairstyles only to avoid any heating tool. You can straighten your hair on Monday and on Wednesday create a high ponytail or a beautiful braid.

Tip #9: No immediate blow drying

After shampooing your hair, you should let it at least 15 minutes to get dry under a towel turban. Then, you can move on with a hair dryer and make sure your dryer is kept in a long distance from your hair. The heat can damage your hair, especially if you have thin hair.

Tip #10: Use protective treatments

Before you use any heat-styling tools, you should opt for a protective styling product.
