The Oscars 2020

10/02/2020

Finally, we had the opportunity to watch the Oscars last night. It was a night to remember for us movie lovers. Parasite won the category for Best Picture, making it the first foreign movie to win this category. It was absolutely a big night for Parasite’s Director, Bong Joon-ho, as he also won the category for Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Screenplay.

Brad Pitt won his first acting Oscar in the category of Best Actor in a Supportive Role for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

Joaquin Phoenix will absolutely be the biggest winner as he won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his role as the Joker. Phoenix won the same category at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, Bafta Awards and Critics’ Choice Awards.

Though the Oscars failed to nominate any female filmmakers in the category of Best Director, we have to admit that it was such a special night, especially when Eminem surprised everyone by singing his Oscar winning classic “Lose Yourself” from 8 Miles.

Billie Eilish made all of us a bit melancholic while singing a cover of Yesterday from The Beatles. This song was dedicated to all the famous personalities the world lost in the past year.

As we mentioned some of the best moments from the Oscars, we can’t end this post without posting our favourite looks from the Red Carpet. Even this year our favourite celebrities managed to surprise all of us with their outstanding gowns which were a pure dream. Thumbs up for Billie Eilish for walking the Red Carpet in a Chanel suit, breaking the “Golden Rule” for not wearing dresses at a prestigious event.
