First Monday of May is considered a very important day among fashion enthusiasts. The Met Gala is held every year at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the first Monday of May and it always starts with a major exhibition on a specific theme, which is different every year. The Met Gala has celebrated many historic events, as well as the works of well-known designers such as Paul Poiret, Alexander McQueen, Miuccia Prada and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons.

The Met Gala is often considered as the “Fashion Oscars” where famous personalities, not only from the fashion industry, get together and amaze everyone with their outstanding looks as they walk in the red carpet.

This year, the Met Gala will take place on May 6th and the theme is “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. The theme will allow every person attending the event to experiment with their style and show their own vision through quite some outrageous looks that will for sure cause some controversy. Speaking of controversy, we would like to show you some crazy outfits worn by stars over the years, which did not cause that much of a controversy, but people talked about the outfits for days and weeks.

The event is sold out and the individual tickets went for $35,000, whereas tables of 10 went for $200,000 to $300,000.

This year the hosting committee includes famous actors, designers, athletes and philanthropists. Most notably, the hosting committee includes Bradley Cooper, Lupita Nyong’o, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Chadwick Boseman, Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Pierpaolo Piccioli, Clare Waight Keller, etc.
