The Hawaiian Shirt

11/06/2021

In the age of digitalization, we are more informed about everything happening around us. We know all about current events in the world and we are more in touch with the lives of others, including celebrities. Years ago, you could only get information about celebrities through the television, the radio or by reading magazines.

Nowadays everything has become so simple. When it comes to embracing fashion trends, we can look on the internet and immediately find the information we are looking for.

But even though we are heading towards the future, somehow fashion is moving towards the past. One of the latest trends that we have noticed is the Hawaiian shirt.

This choice of garment reminds us of the movie 50 First Dates starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.

By the 70s and the 80s the Hawaiian shirt became so popular that many companies adopted the so called “Aloha Fridays” where employees could wear a more casual look on Fridays.

The Hawaiian shirt became a pop culture thing and it was present in many movies like Romeo + Juliet, Ace Ventura starring Jim Carrey, Scarface, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas etc.

Later on, this kind of garment was considered a cheesy choice, mostly being related to tourists or dads on vacation.

Nowadays, the Hawaiian shirt found its way and made it down the runways of Prada and Dior.

Everywhere you look now, you will notice this garment and we only have one suggestion for you: buy it and rock it while on holidays.
