Before the world fell for the Duchess of Sussex’s sell-out Kensington Palace wardrobe, the former actress spent much of her time in her Suits character Rachel Zane’s shoes.
In news that is sure to delight royal fans across the globe, an exhibition dedicated to the legal series’ most famous looks has landed with a number of Meghan Markle’s small screen outfits on display.
The ‘Suits: A Farewell Celebration Exhibit’ opened at The Paley Centre for Media in Beverly Hills this week and features two of the former actress’ most referenced looks.
A Nina Ricci blouse and Ralph Lauren skirt worn by the new mother in the episode ‘Admission of Guilt’ has gone up for display alongside a Gucci coat and Tom Ford skirt plucked from the episode ‘Divide and Conquer’.
“Over the course of its eight seasons, UCP’s sophisticated and always stylish drama Suits has captured the hearts and imaginations of USA viewers around the world who have made it an international hit,” the Paley Centre for Media stated in a press release.
“Now, as the ninth and final season premieres, The Paley Centre for Media is delighted to salute the show’s epic run with a new exhibit featuring photography and iconic costumes from series costume designer Jolie Andreatta.”
Visitors will also be able to take a closer look at the wardrobes of other actors from the series with the likes of Mike Ross (played by Patrick J. Adams) and Samantha Wheeler (played by Katherine Heigl) featuring alongside Meghan’s former Hollywood closet.
The Duchess of Sussex left the show at the end of the seventh season, ahead of her marriage to Prince Harry, alongside co-star Patrick J. Adams, who played her onscreen love interest.
The legal series ran for a further two seasons before it was eventually axed with speculation rife that Suits struggled following the departure of its two lead characters.
A newly-engaged Duchess of Sussex spoke candidly about leaving the show after seven years during her first joint interview with Prince Harry back in November 2017.
“I see it as new change, a new chapter. I’ve been working on my show [for] seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there,” the 37-year-old said at the time.
Though she was soon reunited with her former co-stars at her wedding ceremony on May 19, 2018 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
The exhibition will until September 17 and admission is free. Further information can be found over on the official website.
