Safe to say the 2022 Grammy Awards had no unpleasant moments. Unlike the Oscars the event went smoothly and we noticed some iconic moments that will remain in our memories for long.
This year’s Grammys included a moving tribute to Ukraine where speakers all addressed their support to Ukraine and asked people to continue sending donations. Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelenski delivered a speech via video from a bunker in Kyiv to raise awareness, and was followed by a performance from John Legend and Ukrainian musicians.
BTS stole the Grammy stage with their first performance.
Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion recreated the famous Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey Moment at the Grammys. Both paid homage to Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey’s brown dress showdown at the 1998 MTV VMAs.
“You stole my look!” Megan, 27, said, before Dua, 26, explained, “Well, I was told I had the exclusive. I’m going to have to have a talk with Donatella.”
The designer herself then stepped onto the stage and ripped off fabric from the skirt to reveal two distinct looks just like Houston and Carey did more than 20 years ago. In the process, Donatella declared, “These are my girls!”
“Thank you, Donatella,” said Megan. “Now we both look like winners.”
Both artists presented the award for Best New Artist and the winner was Olivie Rodrigo.
Other performers at the Grammys included Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, etc.
But, another important moment at the Grammys was the Red Carpet. As usual the Grammys Red Carpet did not fail us even this time. Celebrities wore vibrant colors, there was a lot of skin baring and a lot of daring outfits.
