The Golden Globes took place last night in all its glory. Even though we are in a middle of a pandemic, it did not stop the Hollywood stars from showing their best while attending the event, some in person and others from the comfort of their home.
It was a great night filled with emotions and enthusiasm. Chadwick Boseman won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. It was such a touching moment for us all, since the world has lost a wonderful person and actor, known by most of us as King T’Challa in Black Panther. The actor’s wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on his behalf in tears.
“He would say something beautiful, something inspiring, something that would amplify the little voice inside of all of us that tells you you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you are meant to be doing in this moment,” she said. She ended with a heartfelt message to her husband: “Honey, you keep them coming.”
Jane Fonda was awarded with the Cecil B. DeMille Award, an honour given to those who have contributed in the art of film and television. The actress is also known for giving her support on issues related to the protection of the environment and Global Warming. During last night’s event she stepped on the Red Carpet in a recycled outfit.
When it comes to this year’s Golden Globes Red Carpet, the interest was more on the stars who did not attend the event physically. Instead, they watched everything from home, but we did not see any pyjamas. They all wore beautiful gowns that gave us the impression that a fashion show was taking place.
