Spring 2019 Makeup Trends

This is the perfect time to start thinking about changes and that means that you should consider a change of your look and opt for the newest makeup trends that will dominate spring season.

We have always considered fashion week as the best place to get inspiration and get to know the latest trends, not only about makeup, but also about outfits, shoes, accessories, hairstyles and some excellent nail ideas. The Spring/Summer collections were presented in September and it is time to refresh our memory and choose the makeup trends we would like to try on this season.

  1. Sun kissed

There is no need to head to the beach and wait for the sun rays to get you tanned and create that light shade on the cheeks and nose. The term sun kissed is quite famous among the beauty world and during spring many women tend to create the sun kissed makeup look, because a little bronzer can quite do the trick and make you look perfect.

  1. Glitter

It would not be spring without some glitter and shimmer. It seems like this trend does not want to leave us yet and it is back again to hypnotize us and make us experiment a little bit with our choice of makeup, especially on a night out. Besides the eye area, you can apply glitter on the lips and also on the cheeks. The trend also comes in the form of a jewel, which will for sure make some heads turn when you get to a place.

  1. Groomed brows

When brows became the centre of attention it was quite bizarre for many women, because they did not pay that much attention to their brows while doing makeup. But, things have changed so much and taking care of the brows is a must now. Well groomed brows are all you need in spring, if you want to stay natural. As long as you have well-shaped brows brushed upwards with a little bit light brown shade applied on it, you will be just fine for the rest of the day.

  1. Eyeshadow Wings

Spring requires a bit of imagination, even on the makeup part. Back in September at the Valentino show, Pat McGrath decided to create wing-like eyeshadow shapes on the eye area by using glittery eyeshadow and jewels. The result was just perfect and it made us consider that kind of look one day. Long eyeshadow wings were also spotted at Burberry and Versace show. So, try focusing more on the eye area and make some experiments.

  1. Artistic eyes

We call it artistic eyes, you probably might have another name for it, but it does not matter as long as you put your imagination to work and do some tricks. During the presentation of the spring/summer 2019 collections, many makeup artists focused all their attention in the eye area and some of them decided to add some art into that part of the face by creating different line and shapes with the help of an eyeliner or eye pencil.

Dries Van Noten

  1. Neon eye makeup

We wrote about the domination of neon green as a choice of outfit, but during spring neon colours will have a comeback as a choice of makeup as well. Brighten your day by colouring your eyes with electric blues, vibrant oranges and bright pink applied on the eye area as an eyeshadow or eyeliner.

  1. Bitten Lips

The bitten lips trend has its origin from South Korea, but now it is present everywhere. Bitten lips are usually created while leaving your lipstick for too long during the day and there comes a time when it starts fading on the edges and only a glimpse of it remains in the middle. Other times bitten lips are created after a passionate kiss. But, now you can create a bitten naturally effect with the help of a lipliner and lipstick.

  1. Gloss

Back in the 90s you could not find a single girl or woman that did not own at least one lipgloss. Lipglosses were quite huge and it is time we start looking for them around and get our hands to lipglosses, mostly in a natural shade.

  1. Matte Purple Lips

It is the perfect time to change our habit of applying mostly burgundy, red and brown colours on the lip area and buy new shades like purple for example. A purple lipstick is the right choice during the spring/summer season.

  1. Clean skin

Being natural is quite a thing nowadays. Many women are opting for clean and glowy skin, because it makes them feel more confident and stronger. Many makeup artists decided to leave the model’s faces foundation free and they felt the need to use just a concealer or a primer.

If you have a glowy skin, you look more natural and healthier, because you give a perfect light to your skin as you try your best to take care of it. As you opt for a glowy skin you can add a bit of a peachy shade to the cheeks or just a baby pink colour to the lips.
