Now that Valentine’s Day is almost here and because we are currently living in a pandemic there is nothing much to do on this special day for lovers rather than staying home and watching movies.
Lucky for us, there are plenty of movies for all the dreamers out there who believe that one day their soul mate will knock on the door. Well… not exactly on the door, but he/she is definitely somewhere out there…
Honestly we are not into the typical Valentine’s Day movies, but we have a list of some fantastic movies that you need to check out. You might have seen them, but there might be someone else to enjoy watching them for the first time.
1. A Star is Born
A Star is Born stole our hearts since the day we got the chance to watch it. The movie tells the story of a hard-drinking musician (played by Bradley Cooper), who falls in love with a young singer (played by Lady Gaga). It is such an inspiring movie and you will absolutely love it.
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This movie will completely shock you. The director has beautifully captured the situation between a couple that decided to erase their memory and become total strangers to each other. We were fascinated watching Jim Carrey in a formal role. The movie has many inspiring quotes that you somehow can relate to, like: “We met at the wrong time. That’s what I keep telling myself anyway. Maybe one day, years from now, we’ll meet in a coffee shop in a far away city somewhere and we could give it another shot”.

3. La La Land
There are many reasons why we love this movie, but the most important one is the fact that it is all about dreamers, or better say, the fools who dream. There are many obstacles in life and you will probably be forced to do things that you do not want to, but dreaming and determination will always guide you, and one day you will achieve it all, though sometimes you have to sacrifice a few things like the love Sebastian and Mia had for one another in the movie.
4. About time
Just imagine how great it would be having the power to go back in time and change particular situations in your life. This movie shows what a guy is willing to do just to get to know the girl he randomly met. Well, he even became a crazy fan of Kate Moss just to impress her.
5. Pride and Prejudice
Dear Jane Austen,
Thank you for all the romances you have written.
Sincerely,
A helpless romantic person.
6. Bridget Jones’s Diary
If you are not in a good mood, because you totally hate the Valentine’s Day drama, watching Bridget Jones’s Diary will get you out of your bad mood.
7. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button
The movie tells the story of Benjamin Button, who starts aging backwards. Although the movie is focused on the life of Benjamin and how he starts changing day by day, there is a love story between the main character and Daisy, the little girl he met at the place he used to live. Two different people start to have feelings for each other and they try to do everything to make their relationship work, despite the unusual circumstances.
8. Slumdog Millionaire
How far are you willing to go, to win the girl of your dreams? This movie tells you all about it.
9. The English Patient
Usually movies about war have the tendency to be quite melancholic. The English Patient is a romantic war drama film featuring a badly injured victim at the close of WWII, who tells his past story in flashbacks, involving a romantic affair, while he is tended by a nurse.
10. 10 Things I Hate About You
Probably this is not the most romantic movie out there but watching Patrick (Heath Ledger) singing Can’t Take My Eyes Off You in front of the entire school for Kat Stratford (Julia Stiles) was certainly the most romantic thing. And the poem scene was the cherry on top…
