For many years royal families have been known for fully following strict rules even when it comes to their appearance. It is a fact that royals do not get dressed or do hair and makeup, because they choose so. Everything is organized in details and there is always a protocol about the how they dress and keep hair in certain events.
That is why we do not know of any royal that has appeared in pink hair, looking like a total punk, or with tattoos or piercings. Image is very important for all royals and for that reason they try their best to keep a simple profile that is in full synchronization with tradition and protocol.
But despite the traditional short hair alla Grace Kelly, or Queen Elizabeth II, we saw a different royal look when Princess Diana became a popular figure. Her signature hairstyle became quite popular in the 80s. In early 2010s, Kate Middleton’s hairstyle was coveted by many women. Her bouncy blowout became so popular, that it looked like you were seeing Kate’s doppelgängers in every possible corner.
As soon as Prince Harry announced his engagement to Meghan Markle, everyone had their eyes on Meghan, who really surprised us all. The Duchess of Sussex has certainly become a role model and women tend to be inspired by everything she does, and of course everything she wears. We must say that we were a bit shocked on her wedding day, because her hair was not quite in place, but this is Meghan and who knows what is more to be seen from her.
Below we have rounded up the evolution of royal hairstyles from the short hair of the 20s to Kate Middleton’s famous blowout hair.
