After already donating $10 million to help in the fight against coronavirus, the Ralph Lauren Corporation has made another significant contribution, this time to the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, a cancer centre in London.
The fashion house – which has a longstanding relationship with the Royal Marsden – has made a donation which will allow the purchase of a special machine to test for Covid-19. This will help to alleviate staffing shortages in the cancer facility and to avoid unnecessary isolation for staff who have not tested positive for the virus. This testing will also be rolled out to benefit other people with cancer and NHS frontline staff across London, as part of a recently opened cancer hub in the capital.

“Thanks to The Ralph Lauren Corporate Foundation and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, we can bring Covid-19 testing in-house, increasing the volume of NHS staff and cancer patients across London, that can be tested and significantly speeding up the turnaround of results,” Professor Mitch Dowsett, head of the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at The Royal Marsden said.
The fashion corporation will also help to raise funds for the emergency appeal recently launched by the Royal Marsden, which aims to raise enough funds to ensure that people with cancer can continue to receive life-saving care at the facility. The company will also donate 50,000 Ralph Lauren products, including pyjamas, T-shirts and other loungewear, to NHS staff and volunteers across UK hospitals, in collaboration with the charity Helpforce.
