After being a stand-out guest at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s royal wedding in May, Priyanka Chopra is about to have her own nuptials fit for a princess. The Quantico alum is set to marry singer Nick Jonas at the Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India. The wedding celebrations will take place from 30 November 30 to 2 December, a source with knowledge of the plans tells.
The palace is the home of the former royal family of Jodhpur and is the sixth largest private residence in the world. Stretching across 26 acres of land (including 15 acres of gardens), the desert sandstone estate sits on the highest point of the city, Chittar Hill.
t boasts 347 rooms, which includes a throne chamber (it is a palace after all), a museum, several banquet halls, ball rooms, a library, an indoor swimming pool, and a spa.
Sporty guests can make use of the four tennis courts on the grounds, but if tennis isn’t your game, there are also two marble squash courts. The palace was originally built between 1928 and 1943 but refurbished by Taj Hotels, who has been managing the luxurious venue since 2005.
With a venue like this, Priyanka and Nick are bound to have an sensational ceremony and reception; but their pre-wedding celebrations have already been lavish. In August, Chopra and Jonas had a lavish engagement party in Mumbai with both of their families. Then, two weeks ago, the actress had a Breakfast at Tiffany’s-inspired bridal shower at the Blue Box Cafe. A week later, the bride-to-be and her pals (including future sister-in-law, Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner) jetted to Amsterdam for her bachelorette party.
The couple’s engagement was first reported in July, months after the couple went public about their relationship.
