John Galliano presented his Spring/Summer 2019 collection at Paris Fashion Week and it was love at first sight. This collection was inspired by the original Picnic at Hanging Rock. The designer explained this season’s inspiration was Picnic At Hanging Rock, Peter Weir’s 1975 adaptation of Joan Lindsay’s creepy girls-gone-in-the-wild, 1900-set novel.
John Galliano dresses revealed a poetic and feminine identity. Ruffle-bibbed pinafores in white, baby blue, or pink were paneled with lace and set with tiny pearlescent bead.
Signature tailoring and delicately ruffled gigot sleeves create a soft Galliani silhoutte that is embellished with delicate thread.
John Galliano described the collection like “spring-summer of self discovery, adventure and identity.”
All collection was so romantic, feminine, and innocent.
