Nothing beats the atmosphere surrounding Paris, especially during Fashion Week. Although we are living in the times of a pandemic, such thing did not stop the individuals of the fashion industry to be part of the fashion week.
Words like class and elegance better describe this beautiful and romantic city. Paris is home to the most famous and authentic fashion houses that have created a strong legacy over the years.
The pandemic did not defeat the talent and creativity of these wonderful designers. On the contrary, it made them strong and they were able to go on with their schedule during the fashion week.
The highlight of Paris Fashion Week was for sure the first collection of Matthew Williams for Givenchy. The Spring 2021 collection of Givenchy was about exploring unisex pieces as a unification between man and woman. Williams remained within the frames of the identity of Maison Givenchy, but simply fading a bit that touch of femininity in the suits or dresses that were part of the collection. We hope to see much more from the new designer in the future.
Olivier Rousteing never seizes to amaze us. It looked like Balmain’s Spring 2021 collection was made for the party woman, who wants to forget about the terrible things that have happened so far in 2020. She loves freedom, she lives for excitement and enjoys the mysteries of life. The collection had everything, from party outfits made of sparkle, to day-to-day asymmetrical looks.
With any Chloé collection there is always that bohemian vibe which somehow was missing from this collection. The collection was made for the working woman who is adapting with the new life.
Virginie Viard explained that the inspiration behind Chanel’s Spring 2021 collection were all the remarkable actresses that Gabrielle Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld have dressed through the years. This collection was a celebration of the beautiful legacy the two designers have left.
The Giambattista Valli Spring 2021 Collection included tote bags, sequin shorts, cascading ruffle dresses, logo T-shirt (something unusual for the brand) etc.
The designer explained that his collection was made for his loyal customers, who he kept a close contact with during the lockdown and afterwards, to better understand their taste and needs.
