And that was a wrap for Milan Fashion Week! This year Milan Fashion Week was all about physical shows, apart from a few decided to have a digital show. It was more personal and all about enjoying the moment.
The fashion industry was hit the hardest with the pandemic, but fashion houses remained strong and survived the difficult year.
The fashion week always brings surprises, and those are the main reason why we love this time. There is always amusement, party, new faces on the catwalk and secret collaborations.
Speaking of secret collaborations, last night we had a major surprise. A Fendi x Versace collection was presented and that will certainly be a memorable night for us all. Donatella Versace and Mr. Kim Jones from Fendi joined forces and presented some really outstanding outfits on the catwalk.
As Fendi mentioned on their Instagram account: “The collection between Fendi and Versace, #Fendace, is not a collaboration; it’s a unique moment in fashion, a disruptive and sincere celebration of Italian fashion with a capital F and a capital V”.
Another highlight from this fashion week was the debut collection of Fausto Puglisi for Roberto Cavalli. We do hope that Puglisi will bring a new area at Roberto Cavalli. His first collection was a manifestation of Cavalli’s early fame with slim dresses and animal print.
We finally had the chance to see Miucca Prada and Raf Simon’s work. The pair announced their partnership during the pandemic, so at first it felt like it would take some time to see their collaboration IRL, but we didn’t have to wait that much, as the pair introduced their Spring/Summer 2022 collection staged simultaneously in Milan and Shanghai.
