How To Survive Winter Exhaustion

During winter people tend to stay at home rather than go out. They prefer spending the day in pyjamas, feeling warm, drinking hot chocolate, watching a movie etc., but such activity has a consequence: people feel exhausted and try to avoid any type of activity that requires them to go out.

So far, we don’t know how the situation with Covid-19 will be in winter. Probably some countries will be in lockdown, while other countries will face many restrictions.

In any case we should not let this situation affect our mood and our health. It requires patience and willingness to avoid feeling exhausted all the time by the hours spent inside. We tried that once in the beginning of the pandemic and we should not let it get to us. That is why you might consider some of the following steps:

  1. Stay outside, in the daylight

The first thing any person should do to escape the urge of staying home all day is going out in sunlight. Although the day is getting shorter, everyone should spend at least some time out. Even when it is cloudy, if you stay in the sun light even for a few minutes, it boosts your immune system.

  1. Eat well

A good eating regime is very important for your wellbeing. During the cold weather it is important that you consume food filled with nutrients that will boost your immune system and make you more energetic. Your eating regime should contain proteins, fibres, complex carbohydrates, fruits and vegetables.

  1. Work out

Never skip your workout routine. Although for many people going to the gym might be quite stressful, due to their tight schedule, it is important to organize and find some time for it. If you are not an indoor person, jogging is the perfect exercise. You might as well consider walking early in the morning, which is perfect for boosting your energy levels. Try exercising at least two times a week if you cannot make it three or more.

If gyms will shut down, you might consider exercising from the comfort of your own home. There are many apps out there and individuals who give online instructions for you to follow and maintain your shape.

  1. Hydrate

Many think that we should consume more water during summer, but this is not true, because in winter the body needs as much water as in summer to function properly. Try drinking six to eight glasses of water per day. Make it a goal and try achieving it.

  1. Vitamins

If you still feel exhausted, without energy to move on with your daily routine, even though you keep following all the above-mentioned steps, you should consider taking vitamins to boost your energy levels. You should consult with experts that will advice you which vitamins you need to take.
