Having healthy nails is always a challenge as it requires time and dedication. There are many women, who probably might think that it is a waste of time and money to take care of the nails, because they are considered not alive, but cuticles are, so the area surrounding the nails should be protected and taken care of. I am pretty sure that there is not a single person out there who dislikes good looking nails. Am I right?
Nowadays, everything is about protecting the nails. You will be surprised by the variety of products, which will have a big impact on your nails and the way they look when you use them. So, take a look at some tips below and start doing something about those nails.
#1 Keep your nails uniform
It is very important that your nails have the same length and shape. There can be times when you break one or two nails so hurry up and make them uniform. Probably, you might have a busy schedule, but you should always find a solution for that, like keeping a nail shaper with you to fix the broken nail.
#2 Use Cuticle Oil
Keeping your cuticles will protect your nails. If you remove them you might experience a minor pain or cause an infection. Instead of removing them, you can use Cuticle Oil whenever you feel that your cuticles have become dry. Cuticles are always fragile, because they are exposed to the sun, cold, salty water, soaps, chlorination and other conditions, so you can never let them without any protection. I would suggest Apricot Cuticle Oil from Essie, as it nourishes and protects your nails, or you can use Coconut Oil instead.
#3 Use hand cream
Healthy nails require healthy hands, so keep your hand cream with you anywhere you go. I would suggest Shea Butter Hand Cream by L’Occitane, that nourishes and softens dry skin.
4# Use protective nail polish
Now you can use protective nail polishes that are colorful. I would suggest La Roche Posay Silicium Protective Fortifying Nail Polish that prevent the nails from UV rays, chipping and peeling.
#5 Base Coat
Keep in mind to apply base coat before applying the color you have chosen, because the base coat makes sure your nail polish bonds easily on the nail surface, and it also protects your nails. If you are not into having so many products about nails, you will be just fine with a protective nail polish.
#6 Top Coat
If you want to have a long lasting manicure, choose brands that are specialized in nail polishes like Orly, O.P.I, Essie and Nails inc, which are the best. These brands have amazing nail polishes that are easily applied and long lasting. If you are not in the mood of polishing your nails quite often, a Top Coat will do the trick and extend the manicure.
