New Year is on its way and it is time we think about a whole new look for ourselves. 2017 should be left behind and start embracing new things by experimenting a little bit with your look. Think of a new hairstyle, whether it is a bob with a fringe, retro style, or a boyish style, 2018 will bring new ideas, but it will also bring back some old trends from the 90s. So, take a look at these hair trends as seen on the most famous catwalks.
- Scrunchies
I am pretty sure that you will feel a little bit angry with yourself right now, because you have taken away all your schrunchies, which were a must during the 90s. The look was seen backstage at Mansur Gavriel and it is time we search every corner of the house to see if we have kept our scrunchies, or head to the stores and get one.

2. Braids
It looks like braids will never go away, but for 2018, braids will no longer be like Dakota Johnson’s style in the 50 shades movie. You have to be more creative than that and start mastering your skills and create a loose fishtail like a pro.

3. Hairbands
Do you see anything familiar? Hairbands always remind me of Blair Waldorf and they are making a comeback in 2018.

4. Barrettes
The more I continue with the hairstyle ideas for 2018, the more I regret throwing everything I had during the 90s. I mentioned scrunchies, hairbands and now it is time I mention barrettes. But, the only difference is that in 2018, your barrettes should not be that simple. Opt for embellished ones with crystals or pearls. Or, you can get simple ones but put double barrettes on each side as seen at Versace show.

5. Nirvana blonde
When Selena Gomez appeared at the 2017 American Music Awards, everyone went crazy over her blonde hair. What was more noticeable, was the blonde shade, which was neither blonde nor platinum. In other words, it was similar to Kurt Cobain’s hair color, no wonder it is called nirvana blonde. It took approximately 9 hours for Selena to get that color. Would you keep yourself calm, while your colorist does the transformation?
Personally, I would get my laptop with me and watch The Crown Season 2.

6. Tomboy
Not only we like to wear men’s clothes, but we are actually heading to stealing their hairstyle as well. 2018 will allow you to embrace that boyish look, which is more of a pixie cut with chopped bangs. The look was very popular backstage at Tom Ford, Fendi, Prada and Moschino.

7. Dark chocolate color and messy bangs
Dark chocolate is always simple and classic. For 2018 forget the highlights, because we are so over that trend. Color your hair in dark chocolate and keep your bangs messy.

8. Embrace those curls
Curly hair was very popular during 2017, but in 2018 the obsession will go even further than that. Make your curls even bigger and better. If you already have big curly hair, you are lucky. Straight hair girls, will need more time and patience to get that look.

9. Wet hair
Wet hair almost dominated the catwalks, and it had a huge comeback. Whether it is a spray, gel or just water, all you can do is keep your hair down and spray the roots, or you can keep them messy. You can also let strands of your hair all over your face and you will look like you have just come out of the water. Would you dare?

10. Wrap your ponytail
Wrap your ponytail by using a plastic tube or a scarf, and you will create a look that caught the attention of many at Chanel’s show, but also at Fenty x Puma by Rihanna.
