Gucci, this season made the leap from Milan to the French capital. The brand presented during Paris Fashion Week the Spring Summer 2019 collection at the Théâtre Le Palace in Paris on Monday. There was a short film, a live performance and of course, an amazing collection. The show began with a dark surrealist film, followed by models walking down the aisle ways of the theater two-by-two as opera music played.
Legendary French-British actress and singer, Jane Birkin, made a sudden appearance and she sang her 1983 single “Baby Alone in Babylone”.
Gucci also paid homage to some other legendary female musicians with the Spring 2019 collection. A denim jacket airbrushed with a portrait of Dolly Parton hit the runway to amaze us all.
Gucci featured recognizable Mickey Mouse heads that are surprisingly fully-functional handbags.
The collection was full of neons and other bright colors. We saw large white cowboy hats, puffed shoulders, checked tailoring, skirt suits, feathers, python print and leopard print.
