Givenchy began a new chapter in its history last night with Clare Waight Keller’s first couture collection. British designer Clare Waight Keller presented her first couture show for Givenchy since taking the reins at the house last year. Having spent the last twelve months learning new practices and “experimenting with new fabrics, new techniques” this was the designer’s first couture show ever. Givenchy Spring 2018 Haute Couture held in Paris’s National Archives building, a site never before used as a catwalk venue. British designer Clare Waight Keller made a flawless Paris haute couture debut at Givenchy and Clare Waight Keller, for the first time for Givenchy, introduced men’s couture.
Keller played artfully with tiered tulle, layered lace, feathers and metallics for this collection. Clare Waight Keller’s highly anticipated first Givenchy Couture Spring 2018 show, presented rainbow ruffles, torn lace dresses, ombré-dyed tiered skirts and silvery chainmail gowns. Keller’s couture collection had a creative heft that sealed her creative vision for the house, women’s, men’s and all.
