As I grew up, I became more and more obsessed with make-up. Such obsession is closely related to watching my mom doing her hair and make-up all the time, and I loved watching her. I always remember the Red Chanel Lipstick she used to wear, and so does now. At that time, touching her make-up products was somehow “forbidden” for me, because I could ruin them, or create a total mess with them when I tried putting them on my face. But, as I became a teenager, I started paying more and more attention to make-up, so I got my very first Chanel lipstick, the same that my mom uses. Time to time, when I see something interesting launched from Chanel, I always get my hands on it. Recently, my obsession is Chanel’s Spring Summer 2018 make-up line called Neapolis: New City, which represents a whole definition of the brand’s legacy of being a luxurious brand.
The collection is inspired from the memories of Lucia Pica, who is Chanel’s global creative make-up and color designer. She was born in Naples, Italy and this collection is like her own old diary, filled with colors and patterns from the places she has seen as she grew up. While referring to a certain picture, she explains through an interview with British Vogue that:
One of the lip inks was inspired by this beautiful pale pink and then the greens and blues of the water made an eyeliner and then the fishnets inspired the lip glosses. The lip powders are my favourites in the collection and the Rouge Allure Velvet L’Indomabile lipstick which is such a good red, really bright.”
So, take a look at the collection below and choose which one is your favorite. The beauty of this collection is that the domination of colors makes it very easy for you to apply the products anytime and for every season, whether it is spring and you enjoy a beautiful touch of orange on your lips, or winter and you want to add a deep green shade to your eyes.
