With all the cons that social media comes with, we have to admit that its pros have given us much valuable information that would otherwise be hard to find. Through Instagram or Tik Tok we are getting all sorts of information, including everything about fashion and beauty. Speaking of beauty, K-Beauty became a massive trend, thanks to social media. Recently another trend is getting a lot of importance: skin icing. Skin icing is basically everywhere now on Instagram reels and Tik Tok.
If you are unfamiliar with skin icing it is just the act of putting ice on your face. Such trend is not new to us. Since ages, people have been putting ice on their face as a way of reducing inflammation, redness, puffiness and stimulating circulation for a fresh look. Many use ice as an antiaging treatment, which causes circulation by making blood cells reach the face and bringing life to it.
Such technique is quite famous among celebrities. Last year, Irina Shayk showed us her skincare routine through an IGTV for British Vogue. The supermodel used an ice tool by Nicole Caroline to wake up her face: “Trust me, it works. All around your face, it’s really cold. That’s how you wake up in Russia.”

Another celebrity that swears by this technique is Jennifer Aniston. Aniston has revealed that she uses a bowl of ice water and splashes her face in the morning several times.
Back in 2020, Lady Gaga revealed how she prepared for the performance for the VMAs. On Instagram she posted a photo of herself in an ice bath.
The idea of applying ice cubes on your face is just a simple procedure, but nowadays there are specific tools that provide the same effect on your skin. Whether you want to put ice cubes on your face, splash it with ice water, or use specific tools it’s all up to you.
If you check videos on YouTube you will see how the skin reacts to it: pores become smaller, face is literally glowing
and lifted.
