A new David Bowie documentary will explore his early years

A new documentary about David Bowie is in the works and will act as the prequel to David Bowie: Five Years and David Bowie: The Last Five Years previously aired on the BBC.

“David Bowie: The Last Five Years” was released last year and followed the last years of his life and career. It showcased archival footage and never before heard takes from the studio of him recording his last two albums.

This new documentary will focus on the late artist’s early life and career. Hopefully it will feature more new footage and work from the days before he became a cultural icon.

The artist became a worldwide superstar with the glam rock theatrics of his album Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars in 1972.

His constantly evolving sound and image has meant he remains one of the most iconic musicians of the past century. Many artists today name him as a major influence upon their music.

Whilst more details on the upcoming documentary are scarce, if it’s anything like the previous two, it’s gonna be great.

Although no more details have been made available yet, David Bowie News reported that the documentary will air in 2019 as fans can look forward to another insight into the life of the ‘Space Oddity’ musician.

The documentary will be aired in 2019.
