8 Ways to Go Back to Work After Vacation

The summer holiday season is coming to an end and it’s time to go back to work. Saying goodbye to the sun, sea and freedom can often feel like the end of the world. Getting back to work after a summer holiday can be a daunting task – even for those who love their job. You aren’t alone if you’ve ever felt like you needed a vacation from your vacation. While it’s completely natural to feel sad that your vacation is over, it’s important to remember that there can always be another one in the future.

But your transition back to the office doesn’t have to be a total nightmare. We have rounded some tips to help you staying focus at the work:

1. Plan your comeback

Set your priorities, focus on what’s important – and if you can’t avoid some overload, impose yourself not to overwork: you’ll lose nothing if you’ll just leave the office at an appropriate hour in your first days.

2. Wake up early

The first hour of work is when people can be most productive. So put all the taxing, difficult and challenging tasks on your agenda during the first hour. That will help you stay focused at work.

3. Prepare for work the night before

Don’t get stressed and run around like a crazy person in the morning, do a little planning the night before.

4. Make a daily “to-do” list and keep it nearby

It’s always helpful when you have your list of tasks beside your PC.  Try creating your to-do list the day before you head into the office. It can organize your thoughts and make you feel more prepared when you go to work.

5. Set new goals

The only way to keep from getting bored at work is if we have something new to learn and therefore, you need to walk back into the office with a new mindset.

6. Take little and short breaks

Getting to the office early, working through lunch, and staying late doesn’t necessarily mean getting more stuff done. The breaks allow you to stretch a little and refresh your mind hence allowing you to stay focused better.

7. Wear clothes you like

Another tip that will help you survive going back to work is to wear something you feel good in. Whatever your choice, the important thing is that you give yourself a nice little boost of confidence which will help you feel more energetic.

8. Consider vacation as a state of mind

Working in “holiday mode” doesn’t mean wasting your days at the water cooler: it’s more like working “in the moment”, focusing on what you’re doing, with no additional worries.

Almost like at the beach.
