Call it the “Meghan effect”, call it “Markle sparkle” – the fact is, we’re all fascinated by the Duchess of Sussex and everything associated with her. Naturally, on the Vogue beauty desk the fascination extends to the hair, make-up and skincare products she uses. What is the foundation responsible for that ultra-glowy skin? The styling product behind those flawless waves? We did a little detective work to highlight these eight Meghan-approved beauty products, all of which you can add to your arsenal now.
Tatcha Rice Polish Classic Foaming Enzyme Powder
One of the products most frequently linked with the Duchess, Tatcha’s Rice Polish Classic Foaming Enzyme Powder is an exfoliating cleanser which transforms on contact with water. “It just sort of foams on your face and gives you a really subtle exfoliation,” Meghan told Allure in 2014.
Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial
Last year, a just-engaged Meghan Markle was photographed with London facialist Sarah Chapman, clutching a bag of products from her skincare line, Skinesis. Whilst we can’t be sure precisely which products were in the bag, our personal favourite and one of the hero products from the line is the Overnight Facial – and judging by Meghan’s glow she’s been using it too.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria
Meghan rarely strays far from a classic nude lipstick, opting for a pinky-brown hue that perfectly complements her skin tone. Reportedly, her favourite is Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution Lipstick in Very Victoria – which, incidentally, was inspired by royal wedding guest Victoria Beckham.
Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray
The hair product behind those perfectly tousled waves? In 2014, Meghan told Birchbox that Oribe’s cult spray helps her achieve volume and texture. “There is nothing like a hair flip! When my hair is feeling a little weighted, Suanne, my hair artist on set, has me bend forward and she sprays a little Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray or nothing at all, and then has me ‘flip back hard’ to give my hair a little extra bounce,” she said.
Nars Blush in Orgasm
Nars Blush in Orgasm is a true cult classic – so popular that when the brand launched a lip balm version, it sold out within 24 hours. Meghan told Allure that she discovered it whilst filming Suits, but wears it in her day-to-day life, too. “I use it on and off camera because it gives you a nice glow from within,” she revealed.
Dior Backstage Face And Body Foundation
Dior’s Backstage make-up collection just happened to launch around the same time as the royal wedding, and it’s believed that Dior brand ambassador Daniel Martin used the new formula to create Meghan’s natural-looking glow on the day. A buildable foundation in a huge range of shades, it’s a Vogue favourite too.
Beautyblender
Speaking of foundation, Meghan has a favoured application method too, in the form of a Beautyblender. “Only apply foundation to the spots you need it and spread it with a Beautyblender,” she told Birchbox. “I never want to cover my freckles, so we just do a ‘wash’ of foundation in certain sections instead of over the entire face.”
MAC Eye Kohl Eyeliner in Teddy
A good eyeliner can be truly transformative, and Meghan knows it. “If I’m going to amp it up for night, then I use MAC Teddy eyeliner, which is a really beautiful brown that has some gold in it,” she told Allure. A classic, and for good reason.
